Popular antique & artisan holiday market returns to South Union

Presented by Logan Telephone Cooperative and Smith & Scarbrough PSC, the Shaker Museum's annual Christmas at Shakertown Holiday Market is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 2.

Just in time for the holidays, 25 of the region's finest antique vendors and Southern craftspeople will be on hand to sell unique gift items.

Open House shopping begins at 9 a.m for the Christmas at Shakertown Holiday Market with the event concluding at 4 p.m. The market will take place inside the bottom three floors of the Shaker Museum's Centre House.

In lieu of an admission charge, all Open House attendees are asked to make a donation of canned food or money, all of which the Auburn Rural Fire Department will use to support local families in need this holiday season.

The Logan Friendship League will sell hot lunches and baked goods throughout the day. All proceeds will be used to support Logan County Kentucky charities and special needs throughout the upcoming year.

The Shaker Museum will also host a special Christmas at Shakertown Holiday Market Preview Party on Friday, Dec. 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. The Preview Party features a Coffee & Dessert Bar by Starbucks Coffees, holiday performances by the South Union Quartet and- of course- excellent shopping opportunities. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased in advance by calling the museum at 542-4167.

The Shaker Museum at South Union is located near Auburn, 12 miles west of Bowling Green and 15 miles east of Russellville, just off Highway 68/80. For more information, please log on www.shakermuseum.com or contact the Shaker Museum by calling 542-4167 or e-mail shakmus@logantele.com
