On Oct. 2 in the home finale, the Lady Cougars beat Barren County in straight games. The following evening they also won in two games at Bowling Green High School.
Against Barren County, Marie Weldon had 4 kills and Brooke Kelley had 3 with Brooke Dowlen and Michelle Belt getting 2 each. Weldon and Belt each had 8 attacks with Kelley adding 6 and Courtney Gibbs 4.
Jenna Wilson had 4 assists, Mackenzie Dunlap 3 and Gibbs 2. Belt had 6 aces and Lorraine Vaughan 1. Weldon, Vaughan and Mary Beth Eicher each served 100 percent and Belt 95 percent.
Vaughan had 2 4 digs with Weldon and Tabby Simmons getting 2 each. Belt was credited with 2 blocks with Kelley and Dowlen getting 1 each.
In the Bowling Green game, Kelley had 4 kills and Belt 2. Weldon, Vaughan and Belt each had 7 attacks, Kelley 6 and Simmons 4.
