State highway crews are scheduled to mark new locations for signal poles on U.S. 68 near Wal-Mart this week, the district highway office reports.

Also slated for this week are replacing an entrance pipe and doing ditch work on KY 107, cleaning cross drain on KY 3519 Wednesdand and Thursday, and doing shoulder work on the Franklin Road Friday.

Maintenance activities are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.

Motorists are urged to use caution in work areas, and to be alert for flagmen, workers, equipment which may block a portion of the roadway, and other items of concern in work zones. They should pay attention to warning signs alerting them of the roadwork and obey work zone speed limits where applicable.

The Kentucky Department of Highways maintains nearly 381 miles of highways in Logan County.
