The homestanding Logan County Lady Cougars will be heavy favorites to repeat as 11th District Volleyball champions next week.

The tournament opens Monday at 6 p.m. at LCHS as the top seeded Lady Cougars entertain fourth-seeded Russellville.

The winner will move on to Tuesday's 7 p.m. finals. The loser will be eliminated in this one-loss-and-out format.

Second-seeded Franklin-Simpson will take on Todd Central in the second match Monday. That winner will also go to the finals.

Coach Tina Lynch's Lady Cougars, who have a 26-5 record. The Lady Cougars not only are undefeated in the district but have lost only to Greenwood in the region.

The Lady Panthers were 10-19 going into Thursday's season finale.

Franklin has a 10-10 record and Todd is 6-14, according to the Kentucky High School Athletic Association website.

Admission to the tournament is $5 per person. The gates will open at 5:15 p.m. Monday and 6:15 Tuesday.
