It was a great two days of good music that was free to listen to, no charge at the gate. All you needed to do was to bring each a chair, sit down and listen to Bluegrass at its finest. Can life be any better?
The festival featured some of the finest bands in the industry. The emcee, Garnett Hearld, introduced each of the bands Friday through Saturday night. Not only good music but lots of good food and crafts stands were there. It's a good way to meet new friends that have enjoyed the music for many years.
Mr. Otis Bilbrey and his wife Geneva are the ones responsible for putting this festival on, along with a great bunch of good sponsors from this area.
McCutchen Coke Park in Auburn is a great place for the festival. The park on Friday about noon witnessed a bunch of people carrying lawn chairs and blankets headed for the stage area. The park came alive with the buzzing community of Bluegrass jam fans, happy to be spending time with family and friends out in God's creation, listening to the music they love and grew up on.
The festival was in all aspects well worth the trip. Everyone enjoyed it this year and we are looking forward to the 18th annual Logan County Bluegrass Jam next year.
