K-5th grade dance
A dance for students kindergarten through fifth grade will be sponsored by the Concerned Citizens of Logan County Youth Division at the KP Hall on Fifth and Morgan streets from 6-9 p.m. Admission is $2 and refreshments will be sold. Youth will not be allowed to leave until parents pick them up.

Habitat's Big Build Saturday
Land of Logan Habitat for Humanity will hold its Big Building Saturday today beginning about 8 a.m. Anyone who would like to help frame a house on East Sixth Street in Russellville just west of the bridge is welcome to participate. This is the 15th house the local chapter has built.
Purple Martin Festival
The Lewisburg Purple Martin Festival will be held today with the theme "Celebrating Lewisburg: Past, Present and Future." The parade begins at 10 a.m. It will be followed by games, inflatables, food, crafts, music, archery demonstrations and a special skating event at Spinners. Pony rides at Purple Martin Festival
Dream Riders will be offering pony rides as part of the Purple Martin Festival today beginning at 9 a.m. near the Lewisburg School.
Givin' Back Basketball Camp
A group of men will give basketball training at the Givin' Back Basketball Camp each Saturday morning from today through July 22 at Hampton Park. Times are 8-9 a.m. for first and second graders, 9-10 for third-fifth graders, 10-11 for sixth-eighth graders and 11 until noon for high schoolers. Boys and girls are both welcome. Freedom Fund Banquet
The Russellville-Logan County Branch of the NAACP will sponsor its 28th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet at 6 p.m., at Logan County High School The theme is "Education is the Key to Opening Doors of Opportunity." Helen Anderson Long, an educator with the Clarksville/Montgomery County schools and a tutor with Concerned Citizens, Inc. Tutoring Program. Red River Habitat fish fry
Red River Fish & Game Habitat's annual fish fry and Red River Party in Adairville is today. The gates will open at 4 p.m. and the supper will be served starting at 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. or until everyone is served. There will be entertainment, door prizes, an auction and a drawing for ten $50 cash prizes and a $2,000 cash prize. The event is open to the public. Tickets are $25 each and admit two people. Sheriff's fishing rodeo
Logan County Sheriff Wallace Whittaker will hold his first fishing rodeo for Logan County children ages 13 and below at Wild Goose Fishing Lake on Highland Lick Road, 2.5 miles from the 68-80 Bypass. Each child must be accompanied by a lawful parent or guardian to attend the free event. Fishing for children will from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free refreshments and hot dogs will be served. Prizes will be given.

A celebration of the second anniversary of their pastor will be held by Bank Street AME Zion Church. The monthly meeting of the SKATS Club (Southern Kentucky Amateur Transmitting Society) at 7 p.m. The club meets monthly in the Logan Memorial Hospital Conference Room. Interstate poster contest
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, District 3 office will hold a celebration on Wednesday, June 2 1 at the Corvette Museum at 2:30 pm. Children aged 10 and 11 are invited to create a poster that illustrates what the interstate means to them and/or their family. An ice cream social will be conducted as part of the anniversary celebration of First Presbyterian Church on West Sixth Street in Russellville from 6-8 p.m. A donation of $4 per plate of ice cream and desserts will be accepted to benefit the local benevolence fund.
