According to Russellville Police, Ronald Taylor, 36, of Russellville was traveling west on Ninth and was slowing down fro a turning vehicle when he was struck from behind by a Scott Waste truck.
After being extricated from his vehicle, he was transported by Med Center EMS to Logan Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and then transferred from Vanderbilt Hospital.
The operator of the Scott Waste truck, Rodney Wilson, 38, of Russellville was not injured.
Officer Matthew Humble was the investigating officer. The Russellville Fire Department also responded.
