Western Kentucky University men's basketball head coach Darrin Horn announced Wednesday the Hilltoppers' second signee of the spring period. Jeremy Evans signed a National Letter of Intent and will enroll in school with four years of eligibility remaining in the fall.

Tyrone Brazelton joined the program last week, while Darius Pegues and A.J. Slaughter signed with the Toppers in November.

"I think Jeremy is a great addition to our program because he is versatile and athletic," Horn said. "We think that his best basketball is ahead of him."

A 6-foot-8, 190-pound forward from Crossett, Ark., Evans lettered three years for Crossett High School, helping lead the Eagles to the state tournament each of the last two seasons. Last year, he averaged 25.6 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots per contest while earning all-state and all-conference accolades.

In addition to being named all-state and all-league as a junior, Evans was voted the county Player of the Year as CHS finished 17-10.

He was also an all-conference choice his sophomore season. The last two years, Evans has paced the Eagles in points, assists, rebounds, steals and blocked shots.

The Hilltoppers won the Sun Belt Conference regular-season title with a 12-2 record last season, finishing 23-8 overall while participating in the National Invitation Tournament for the second year in a row. It was the second straight season that WKU has won 20-plus contests.
