Any person that owns or harbors an animal considered vicious, such as a pit bull breed of dog that has a propensity to attack unprovoked living in the city limits of Russellville shall be required to register that animal with the city according to the new ordinance.

Application forms are available at city hall. A registration fee of $20 per animal will be charged. The fine for not registering the animal is not less than $50 or more than $100 per animal for the first violation.

A notice of code violation will be issued first giving 14 days to comply. Call the city code enforcement officer at 726-5059 with questions or to make applications.
