Top-seeded Auburn swept both of its semifinals games in the Logan County Middle School Tournament Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers beat the Lewisburg Rangers 44-29, and the Lady Tigers eliminated Olmstead 59-17.

It marks the second straight season that both Auburn teams have reached the finals. It's the fifth straight year that the boys have been in the finals. The Tigers are the defending champions. Josh Hall coaches both teams.

The Rangers and Lady Rams had reached this point by getting first-round wins two days earlier.

Ten Lady Tigers scored in the balanced attack. Seventh grader Kayla MacAllister was the leader with 14 points. She scored 10 of them in the second quarter, and hit 4 of 5 free throws. Maegan Williams had 12 points, with 8 of hers coming in a 20-point second quarter. Michelle England, who scored 9 got the other bucket in that quarter.

Jaylin Jones, one of the reserves who got a lot of playing time, scored 6 points in the fourth quarter, matching starter Sarah Speck.

Laurissa Richmond led the Lady Cardinals with 10 points, 8 of them in the first half. No one else had more than 3 points.

Auburn hit 13 of 22 free throws and Adairville 3 of 12.

The Lady Tigers were to play Chandlers in Monday night's finals. Chandlers beat them last year to keep their string of championships alive.
