Deputy injured during arrest

The Logan County Sheriff's Department is continuing the investigation of an incident that occurred on Oct. 16 at 2039 Coopertown Road.

The incident began with a vehicle check in which three white males were involved. They did not possess operator licenses or any other form of identification. The deputy conducting the vehicle check moved the operator to his cruiser and advised the passengers to remain in the vehicle.

According to the official report, tne passenger, David Glenn Morgan of Elkton, who is wanted on different warrants, began fighting the deputy. He attempted to disarm him while being placed into custody. During the assault, passenger Thomas O'Brien Morgan jumped from the car, shouting towards the deputy. David Glenn Morgan then fled into a field.

The deputy pursued Morgan for 3/4 mile before reaching a heavily wooded area. The deputy was treated by EMS and at Logan Memorial Hospital for bruises, lacerations and fatigue.

Thomas Morgan was arrested for Complicity Assault 2nd degree of a peace officer and Promoting Contraband 1st degree after a Methamphetamine substance was found on his person. Operator Jonathan Morgan was charged with No Operator's License and was held in the Logan Detention Center.

David Glenn Morgan, who was not caught, is wanted in Logan County for felony charges concerning this incident as well as five outstanding warrants in Todd County.

Russellville-Logan County CrimeStoppers is offering rewards up to $1,000 for information that could lead to the arrest of the individuals in this case. Those who submit information will remain anonymous.
