Approximately $8,000 was saved from Russellville's budget recently after council members sat down and tweaked insurance coverage for city-owned structures.

The city insures its properties either under replacement value or market value. Some of the city's properties, according to council members, wouldn't be rebuilt if something happened to them so they needed to be classified as market value, which requires a lower annual premium instead of replacement, which costs the city more.
