The first was an ordinance adopting a water and sewer budget for the fiscal year 2004-05.
Because the city took back its water and sewer operations from the Consolidated Infrastructure Management Authority in December 2004, a budget was required to be completed.
The second was an amendment to a current ordinance, which regulates the city's cemeteries. The changes that are being suggested include regulating the placement and duration of artificial flowers, cut flowers, decorations and benches on grave sites.
This ordinance, said City Attorney Bob Hedges, needs to be looked over carefully by the council. Hedges said he didn't expect a second reading to take place by the next scheduled meeting. Councilman Russell Jones said he wanted to delay the second reading for a month.
