Four members were present at Lewisburg's council meeting held Monday with members Robert Harper and Angie Mullen absent.

Mayor Ken Whitson discussed an East Logan Water District proposal with council, asking them if they wanted him to continue to investigate the option of selling water lines out Iron Mt. Road to the East Logan Water District.

East Logan Water has shown interest in purchasing these lines, which would amount to approximately 83 customers. Apparently there are people who are not being served out Iron Mt. Road, and it is the goal of East Logan to extend lines to service those future customers.

Whitson said if the council did decide to sell the lines to East Logan Water District, they would need to use those funds generated from the sale to pay off a bond.

Councilman Jeff Lassiter said he felt that it would be beneficial for the people living on Iron Mt. Road. Whitson said there would definitely be more customers served. Lassiter said he felt the better informed the council is the better decision they can make. Mayor Whitson said he would do more investigating and report back to the council.
