No-Till Association annual meeting set

The Logan County?West KY No-Till Association and Logan County Extension Service will hold their Annual Meeting/Grain Day on Monday, Jan. 31, at the  Logan County Extension Office.

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., A business meeting will be held at 9:05 with the first speaker beginning at 9:15.  David West with Wheat Tech will give a wheat update; Dr. Don Hershman, UK plant pathologist, will speak on Soybean Rust; Dr. John Groves, UK agronomist, will speak on Organic Matter, Winston Woodward, Logan County FSA, will give Farm Program Updates and Reminders; Dr. Steve Riggins, UK farm management specialist, will speak on Grain Marketing; and Chris Coomer will give a Soybean Processing Plant Update. CCA credits will be available.

After lunch is served, private pesticide applicator certification will be held for those interested in obtaining certification or renewing their pesticide card.

Livestock clubs

For youth interested in a livestock project: cattle, sheep, horses, or would just like to be a member of a 4-H livestock club, contact the Logan County Extension Office at 726-6323, Leaders are: sheep- Jon Todd, horse- Diane and Tony McCue, and cattle- Chris Milam and Lonny Epley.
