Logan Memorial Hospital is now offering a better way to provide patient privacy with a four-digit passcode that will be required for the release of any personal health information.

The hospital says they are committed to providing patient care that is sensitive, compassionate and promptly delivered. "Each patient is responsible for giving this passcode to family and friends who desire access to the patient's medical condition whole hospitalized. Persons seeking a patient's personal health information must present the passcode before any information will be released," said hospital public relations director Michelle Mitchell.

After the patient is discharged, the passcode will expire.

Mitchell said the new procedure is part of Logan Memorial's continued effort to respect the privacy of the patients at Logan Memorial.

If you have any further questions contact the hospital at 725-4555.
