In response to a letter to the editor a few weeks ago from a Mr. Pritchett in Lewisburg, I wish to state some facts about this statements.

First, I am one of those Christians and my faith is not organized. I have faith in a God that loves all men and the love of God has taught me that I can have faith in Him, because God is always true and faithful to keep his promises. This is why I have faith in a 'God' that is greater than the understanding of man.

I do resent the statement that he made to us as Christians hating people. I love people, but I hate 'sin.' I also believe in the unity of one man and one woman. This is the way God planned for us to be fruitful and multiply the earth. In the beginning of God's Creation, God made woman for the companionship of man.

If God did in fact approve of gay or lesbian marriages, then please explain to me how the earth would replenish itself with children. Some facts about same-sex marriages we all need to remember when we go to the poles to vote are as follows:

#1. Same-sex marriages will always deny a child the right to have a father and mother. According to how well we are doing on this issue in America, look at the failure of children who are being raised in a one parent environment.

#2 Same-sex marriages result in a gender becoming meaningless, motherhood or fatherhood unnecessary. Studies show that children raised in a one parent home are more likely to become poor, victims of abuse, or to experience emotional, educational, health, and behavioral problems.

Women in equal rights have come a long way, and now you are being tried to give up your duties for which God gave you, the birthing of his little souls into this world. And some think that it is okay to have same-sex marriages.

#3. Same-sex marriages are being portrayed as one's Civil Right, when in fact it is a self-centered demand in a society that has done well with one woman and one man.

My faith and God's Word teach me that there is a right and a wrong.
