Moments after a shooting allegedly occurred on South Morgan Street in Russellville, officers conducted a felony traffic stop on a 70s-model Chevy Impala belonging to Curry Petrie, 20, of Elkton, because it matched the description of the suspect vehicle in the incident.

During the stop, officers determined that the Petrie vehicle had indeed been involved, but the suspect in the shooting had fled the vehicle prior to the traffic stop.

However, owner Petrie was arrested on other charges, as officers reportedly located a small amount of crack cocaine inside the vehicle.

Petrie was transported to the Logan County Detention Center and lodged on charges of speeding, first-degree DUI, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance--cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
