Pride of Kentucky Showcase to feature state's produce, life

The Pride of Kentucky Showcase is an exciting opportunity for you to see what Kentucky Farms have to offer and to hear heartwarming stories about farm and family traditions.

To create an awareness of Agri-tourism in Kentucky, the Pride of Kentucky Showcase will be held on Sept. 16, 2004 from 2-8 p.m. at the Carroll Knicely Conference Center in Bowling Green.

You will be treated with a host of demonstrations highlighting recipes from the Pride of Kentucky Cookbook. At the showcase, we will take you back to the farm and the rural communities of Kentucky. You will find information about how to make one or more of these rural hot spots your next get away from it all vacation destinations.

Some exhibitors include: Jackson's Orchard, Chaney's Dairy Barn, Mammoth Cave Transplants, Long C Trails, Lickskillet 1779, Tenito's County Kitchen, Lazy B Farms, Buck Acres and Amazing Acres.

Or perhaps you will be able to show your children and grandchildren what the rural lifestyle is all about at the Children's Fun on the Farm Activity Center.

The center will have various "farmer for a day" activities such as Henhouse Egg Hunt, Cowboy Up, Diggin' for Vegetables and making ice cream.

So bring a friend or bring the whole family to the Pride of Kentucky Showcase to meet folks whose farms and festivals provide fun for the whole family.

Admission is $5 at the door or $4 in advance from the Logan County Extension Office. For more information, please call 726-6323.
