Richard Starling 'Dickie' Allen, 48, of Sanford, N.C. died on Sunday, May 9, 2004 at his residence.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 15 at Emmanuel Apostolic Church with Bro. Junior England officiating.

Mr. Allen was born in Logan County.. He was the owner of Allen Roofing Company.

Surviving are his wife, Terri McClain Allen; his sons, Josh McClain Allen at home, Richard Lance Allen and Daniel Wade Allen, both of Sanford; his step-son, Kris Thomas of Siler City, N.C.; daughter, Sara Michelle Simms and husband, Ricky of Greenville; step-daughter, Casey Thomas Strickland and husband Michael of Siler City, N.C.; his mother, Christine Pitts of Sanford; his father, Myron L. Allen and wife Ailene Allen of Olmstead.; his brother, Galen Allen and wife Tonia of Greenbrier, Tenn.; his sisters, Bonnie Lewis and husband Jon of Bowling Green and Caroltine Taylor of Adairville.; and three grandchildren.

Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Adairville.
