LCHS SBDM elections

This is the final day to submit applications for two parent seats on the Logan County High School Site Based Decision Making Council for next year. Applications are available at the front office between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. The election will be held in Room 154 on Thursday, May 20 at 5:30 p.m. Members cannot be immediate relatives of any employee of the school.

RHS volleyball camp deadline

The Russellville High School volleyball team will conduct a volleyball camp for fourth through eighth graders (this year) May 25-29, except for Wednesday, from 5:30-7:30 at the RHS gym. The Russellville Middle School commencement will be held today, the last day for students in the city school system, at 6 p.m. A dance for eighth graders will be held in the RHS lobby from 7:30-10:30 p.m.

Logan Tele 50th anniversary

Logan Telephone Cooperative will celebrate its 50th anniversary today from 11:20 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be a picnic style meal with tents erected, but those who would like to spread blankets or bring other ways to enjoy the festivities can do so. Habitat for Humanity home

Work will begin today on building a Land of Logan Habitat for Humanity home in Adairville on the corner of Church and Vine. Rock'n Relay Ride

Logan Aluminum's Relay for Life Team will have a Rock'n Relay Ride, a 100-plus mile through scenic Southern Kentucky via motorcycles, hot rods and classic cars. The first vehicle out will be at 9 a.m. and the last one in at 3 p.m. Prizes are for the best 5-card hand and worst 5-card hand. There's a $5 donation for each hand. Relay yard sale

Cougar Basketball Camp

The 2004-05 Cougars basketball team will hold its annual summer camp June 1-4. Cougar coaches and players will teach the fundamentals of the game and provide the fun.

It's for all boys who will be in grades 3-9 this fall and will be at the LCHS gymnasium from 8 a.m. until noon.

The fee is $35 per camper and checks should be made out to Coach Greg Howard.

Camp fees along with registration forms can be dropped off at LCHS. Preregistration will be held Saturday, May 29, from noon until 1:30 p.m. They will also be accepted this morning from 7:15-7:45 a.m.

The Auburn Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. as part of the 68/80 400-mile event.. This is part of four straight days of being open. A PowerPoint Virtual Computer Walking Tour of the Auburn Homes listed on the National Register will be shown, along with new acquisitions.

The Logan County Chamber of Commerce is coordinating an arts and crafts show in Russellville's Public Square in conjunction with a countywide yard sale to be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Spaces for the show are 10' by 10' and $10 each. The Logan Aluminum Relay for Life team will hold its fourth annual yard sale at 6825 Lewisburg road across from the plant. It will begin at 7 a.m. and will be held rain or shine.

Logan Memorial Hospital's Junior Volunteer program begins with an orientation today from 1-4 p.m. in the hospital's main dining room. Coach Lee Proctor's Junior High Football Camp will be held on today through Friday at Logan County High School.
