Bluegrass music heard at Chandlers School

Young people today like music but mostly "their" music: rock, rap, and so on. Recently some students have found a "new" music - well new to them!

Throughout Chandlers School the students have been studying what has become their new love for the Bluegrass music of the Kentucky heritage.

During the month of January, all of Chandlers' students began a study of the music which has its roots in Kentucky. After this intense research they made posters and did projects with their findings. Since this research found out about the different instruments used in Bluegrass, Phillip Stratton, one of the 6th grade students, brought his very own banjo! "I hope that someday soon I can play so well and be like a professional player."
