Russellville City Attorney Bob Hedges introduced a new tree ordinance at the Feb. 3 council meeting. The ordinance- not yet passed- includes a few changes added to the current one, offering clarification.

Controversy over trees cut in 2002 on Main Street sparked the Russellville Tree Board to revise its ordinance tweaking areas that were vague and left to interpretation.

The second reading and vote of the amended ordinance will be held at the next scheduled council meeting.
