James Ernest 'Slim' Wilson, 80, of Auburn, died Aug. 2, 2003 at his residence.

He was born in Simpson County on April 5, 1923, a son of the late Sam Wilson and Mary Lee Adams Wilson.

Mr. Wilson was a retired farmer and a member of the Stevenson United Methodist Church in Franklin.

Funeral services were held Aug. 4 at Young Funeral Home in Auburn, with the Rev. Don Dorris and the Rev. Robert Lawrence officiating. Burial followed in the Auburn Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Shelby Hughes, Danny Smith, Dale Smith, Mike Wilson, Tracy Travelstead and Jerry Hughes.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Katrina Hughes Wilson; his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Bobby Stanley of Auburn; his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Shelia Wilson of Auburn; his brother, Doug Wilson of Franklin; his sister, Ruby Evelyn Smith of Franklin; his grandchildren, Kay Yates, Brian Stanley, Eric Wilson, Matt Wilson and Addie Wilson his great-grandchildren, Kierstyn Stanley and Brayden Yates; his step-great-grandchild, Casey Yates; and several nieces and nephews.
