Garland C. Holland, 88, of Woodburn died Jan. 15, 2003 at the Medical Center of Franklin.

He was born April 14, 1914 in Simpson County, the son of the late Armour and Maude Johnson Holland. A retired farmer, he was a member of Auburn Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Holland, and his sister, Thelma Hurley.

Funeral services were conducted Jan. 18 at Young Funeral Home Auburn Chapel with the Rev. Gary Hughes officiating. Burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery of Franklin.

Pallbearers were Walter Poole, Kelly Holland, James Roger Hollins, James Bradshaw, Tommy Hayes, Joe Woodward and Glenn Tinsley.

He is survived by his wife, Dean Beatty Holland of Woodburn; his daughter, Rebecca Holland of Franklin; and his brother, J.D. Holland of Woodburn.
