He was born in Johnson City, Tenn. on Feb. 24, 1940, a son of the late Alvin and Beulah Stone Harkleroad.
Mr. Harkleroad was a chiropractor, a member of Post Oak Baptist Church, of the American Chiropractic Association and the Kentucky Association of Chiropractors, of the the Masonic Lodge #17 F and AM, of the York Rite Bodies, the Logan County Shrine Club, and the Rizpah Loonies with the Rizpah Shrine Headquarters in Madisonville.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 7 in the Post Oak Baptist Church with Bros. Joe Carrico, Wilbur Powell, Brent Crabtree, Morris Fuller, and Bob Barnes officiating. Burial followed in Maple Grove Cemetery where Masonic Rights where held.
Pallbearers were Joe Smotherman, Kevin Herndon, Jim Nash, John David Wilhelm, Greg Hale, and Barry Bond.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Harkleroad of Russellville; his daughter, Kim Reeves of Russellville; his sons, Rodney and Dr. Todd Harkleroad, both of Russellville; his brothers, Dwayne Harkleroad of Virginia and Jerry Harkleroad of Tennessee; one grandchild, and two step-grandchildren.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Shriners Children Hospital or the Toys for Tots.
