He was born in Logan County, a son of the late Willie G. Cox and Nanny Milton Cox.
Mr. Cox was a tool and die maker for Holley Carburetor, a WWII Army Veteran, and a present board member of the Browning Fire Department having served in that capacity from 1974-1985. He was a member of Clear Fork Baptist Church where he served for 53 years as a deacon.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 4 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home at 3 p.m.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 5-9 p.m. and again on Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. until time of service at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Margaret Cox of Rockfield; his son, Ronnie Cox of Bowling Green; his daughters, Ann Kinkade of Cave City and Glasgow and Kathy Green of Rockfield; his brother, Robert Cox of Bowling Green; his sisters, Marvis Powell of Bowling Green and Zenia Conley of Rockfield; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
