Arrests made in burglaries

On Aug. 12, Elizabeth Gore, 21, of Russellville, and Raymond Bains, 44, and Stephen Hyams, 25, both of Auburn, were arrested in connection with a number of recent burglaries that the Logan County Sheriff's Department has been investigating.

These burglaries occurred at H&O Lumber Company on July 16, B&J Industrial on July 12 and Gasper River Presbyterian Church on July 21 and 27, as well as at Utility Precast Products in Russellville.

In addition, the individuals were charged with first degree robbery of Elbert Rogers of Auburn. Several thousand dollars' worth of computers and sound equipment taken during the burglaries was recovered by the sheriff's department.

Captain Wallace Whittaker is in charge of the investigation.
