It is great to read the News-Democrat & Leader online. I was born and raised in Adairville, graduated from Adairville High School and attended Western.

I have been in east Texas for over 25 years now. Getting to read the Democrat and Leader online is a great way to keep up with people and the activities back at home.

I have enjoyed the articles about the Strawberry Festival more than you will know. Having grown up in Adairville, it is a much a part of one's life as the Kentucky Derby is to anyone from Kentucky.

A couple of weeks ago, you interviewed people about their memories of the festival. One area that was not noted was the annual program. I don't know if it is still produced or not, but for years, the Ladies Auxiliary sold ads and the program was printed by the Barretts, who were the last owners of the Adairville Enterprise newspaper and then moved to Russellville to run their own printing business.

Mrs. Thomas R. Mason was the driving force behind this, helping sell ads and getting the book ready for print.
