The Logan County Lady Cougars had a big fourth inning. The homestanding Russellville Lady Panthers had an even bigger one.

Coach Tom Thompson's Lady Panthers came from behind to beat Logan 10-7 in an important district game Thursday.

Logan's Amanda Nuyt hit a bases-loaded double in the top of the inning to put the Lady Cougars up 6-3. Scoring were Kimber Johnson, who had walked, Cassie Christie, who singled, and Brittany Allen, who reached on an error.

Those two hits were half of the four Russellville eighth grader Stephanie Southerland allowed, however. Megan Bryson and Becca Miller got the other two.

RHS took the lead for keeps in the bottom of the inning. Maggie Wright and Sarah Thompson reached on errors, Caitlin Scales singled, and Andrea Holland and Kendra Sweatt walked.

After Mary Lynn Kisselbaugh reached, Wendi Miller and Sara Ashby got big hits.

Starting Lady Cougar pitcher Lindsey Brown walked the first batter of the sixth inning, and Coach Tina Phelps replaced her with sophomore Brittany Bilbrey. The Lady Panthers added a pair of clinching runs in the sixth inning.
