The people who produce this city's water can be trusted because we make the water in this system the best it has been for some time.
Each of us has invested our time and effort into taking educational opportunities so that we could learn to treat water and make it safe and of good quality.
Apparently, we aren't doing a bad job. We have had several visits from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Kentucky Rural Water Association, and other state agencies, which have all complimented the "good job" we are doing at the CIMA/Russellville Water Plant.
We will be sending out our annual water quality reports by mail, and when each of you receive your copy, you will know how high our water quality is.
Also, the flyer that was published contained incorrect information. At least 11 of the people listed are no longer employed by CIMA. I am sure the numbers looked good on paper, but the information was false.
I am not sure who was unaware of those changes, but I can easily assess that whoever it was isn't thorough enough to be above lying.
Furthermore, if group is going to exploit the fact that six out of nine operators gross less than $16,000 yearly, without promising raises, they'd better not expect many votes.
Contrary to popular belief, we are some of the lowest paid operators and trainees in the state. I certainly don't appreciate the fact that your organization feels that $14,240.65 is too much to pay a person to work at least 2,080 hours a year.
I assume that it was cost effective, however, to pay the people who used to work here before, when the National Guard was passing out water in the Houchens parking lot.
CIMA is the future of water in Russellville, and if you aren't for it, that's okay. But do not disfigure the face of progress for your own personal gain.
