She was born in Logan County on May 26, 1921, a daughter of the late J.B. Pedigo and Annie Martin Pedigo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Bruce.
Mrs. Bruce was a receptionist and secretary for the Barren River Comprehensive Care Center, the Logan County Coordinator for the Muscular Dystrophy Society, and a past president of the Kentucky American Legion Auxiliary, as well as a member of the Republican Womens Club and the Crittenden Drive Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held Feb. 20 at Memorial Funeral Home in Russellville, with Danny Williams, Keith Burnett and Dale Graham officiating. Burial followed in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Bob Thornton, Michael Pape, Sheldon Baugh, Scott Gregory, David Bilyeu, Bobby Burchett and Keith Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers were Ed Whitfield, Brett Guthrie, Dr. Dewey Wood, Dr. David Jarvis, Mitch McConnell, Steve Metzer, Joe Pruitt, Dr. Gene Wilson, Dr. John McCubbin and Randall Coffman.
Mrs. Bruce is survived by her son, Bob Bruce of Brentwood, Tenn.; her daughter, Marion Joyce Bruce McCoy of Orlando, Fla.; her brothers, John Pedigo of Russellville and Robert Pedigo of Nashville, Tenn.; her sisters, Irene Deaux of Russellville and Mildred Campbell of Bowling Green; her grandchildren, Ronald McGuire, Robbie Bruce and Leigh Ellen Bruce; and her great-grandchild, Isaac McGuire.
