Franklin-Simpson last week shocked a Logan County team which had beaten it earlier in the season.

The Wildcats broke open a close game in the third quarter on the way to a 20-point win over the Cougars.

With the victory, Coach Greg Shelton's team sealed third place in the district seeding and will meet Russellville in district action next Tuesday.

Logan, meanwhile, dropped into fourth place and will go against top seed Todd Central Monday at LCHS.

F-S led 16-9 after a quarter with big men Jeffrey Phillips and Patrick West scoring late in the period.

The Wildcats went up 25-16 before Logan came to life. Kyle Morrison scored seven straight of Logan's points, and Aaron Davenport stuck a rebound back in to pull the Cougars to within 25-22.

Franklin's Cornelius Bowman hit a 3-pointer with a second left to make it 28-22 at the half.

Michael Patterson hit a couple of shot to start the second half, and Franklin was off to the races. The Wildcats outscored Logan 17-7 to start the period and went up 45-29 on back-to-back treys by Patterson and Tremaine Partinger.

The close Logan ever got again was 52-39 on a goal by Kelley Jordan.

Franklin hit 15 of 19 free throws and the Cougars 12 of 17.

Patterson scored 20, Phillips 12 and West 10 to lead F-S. Morrison was Logan's only double figure scorer with 12.
