As we begin a new year, we at the Logan County chapter of the American Red Cross would like to recognize all the contributors to disaster relief in the aftermath of Sept. 11.
Since 9/11, Logan County businesses and citizens have given nearly $25,000. In addition, we would like to recognize outstanding local contributors.
Printers Plus, both Auburn Hosiery Mills, and Logan Aluminum have already been recognized in the N-D&L for making donations of over $2,000 each.
Gerber Childrenswear, the parent company of the Auburn Hosiery Mills, contributed $,5000 in matching funds
In addition to the $3,175 that came from Logan Aluminum employees and the employees' store, the plant's associate owners, Alcan Aluminum and ARCO Aluminum, matched that figure, bringing the total contribution to the American Red Cross $9,525..
Clarence Gamble, board chairman, and I made visits to these companies to give personal thanks and to present plaques in acknowledgment of their generosity.
Please remember that we at the American Red Cross are able to do our work because of the generosity of friends like you.
If you would like to help, call 726-6038 or stop by the Logan County American Red Cross at 219 South Main Street in Russellville.
