In pool play, and early on in the tournament the Lady Cougars showed that they were the dominant team there. The only struggle was the match against Southwestern, but early on the Lady Cougars won an impressive 2-1 (25-20, 26-28, 15-12) match. The match was the marquee match up and just gave a preview to how both these teams would do throughout the tournament.
Logan County defeated Green County, West Creek, McLean County easily to take on Southwestern in a rematch game.
The Lady Cougars, riding a six match winning streak, squared off against the top team in region 12 and once again an impressive match ensued. With the score changing hands the Lady Warriors pulled a slight edge and won the first game. Then in the second game the Lady Cougars fought even harder and took it down to the wire to try and force a game three, but Southwestern managed to hold off the charge and took the game 27-25 and the tournament title home.
The Lady Cougars now hold a 16-4 record which is the second best winning percentage in the region, trailing only Edmonson County and in front of Greenwood.
