Oneda Parrish Rogers, 87, of Auburn, died Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at her home.

She was born in Logan County April 7, 1924, a daughter of the late Cecil Parrish and Beulah May Clark Parrish. In additon to her parents, Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, James “Pop” Rogers.

Mrs. Rogers was a member of First Presbyterian Church, USA of Auburn and an employee of Caldwell Lace Leather of Auburn. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Aug. 13 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church USA in Auburn with Pastor Helen Jordan, Brother Chris Odel and Rev. Shannon Meacham officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 12 from 4-8 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, USA in Auburn and Saturday, Aug. 13 starting at 10 a.m. up until time of service at the church. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery.

Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her son Jim Rogers and wife Sandra of Auburn; her daughter, Jane Pershke and husband Bruce of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; her grandchildren, Jennifer Reed and husband Chris of Hendersonville, Tenn.; Daniel Rogers of Bowling Green; Sarah Grant and husband Jeff of Prattville, Ala., and Shannon Meacham and husband Will of Albany, N.Y.; her great-grandchildren; Emily and Tanner Reed; Charlotte and Isabelle Grant; Maggie and Gus Meacham; her brother, Virgil Parrish and wife Jo and sister Martha Arnold, all of Russellville.
