The 2016-2017 Middle School tournament featured the five county schools battling it out on the court at Logan County High School. The event took place on Friday and Saturday. Auburn Middle School swept the tournament this year. The boys and girls teams both took home the championship trophies.

Action started out on Friday night when the #4 Olmstead Lady Rams met the #5 Adairville Lady Cardinals to kick off the tournament. Olmstead was able to win the game 18-13 and advance to play #1 seed Auburn on Saturday morning. Auburn knocked off Olmstead in the second round and earned a spot in the girls championship game on Saturday night.

The boys opening game featured #4 Lewisburg and #5 Adairville. The Lewisburg Rangers won the game in overtime 38-37. The Rangers advanced to a Saturday game with #1 seed Auburn. The Tigers beat the Rangers and went on to the Saturday night championship game.

On Saturday, the #2 Lady Rangers from Lewisburg played the lady Bears from Chandlers. #3 Chandlers pulled out the win and advanced to face Auburn in the championship. On the boys side, #2 Olmstead and #3 Chandlers squared off to decide who would face the Auburn Tigers in the final game. Chandlers punched their ticket by getting the win.

During the girls championship game between Auburn and Chandlers, Keira Costello and Katie Fitzgerald each scored eight points for the Lady Tigers. Bridget Holman and Zoe Steenbergen each had four points for Chandlers. Auburn won the game 31-13

The boys championship, which also featured Auburn and Chandlers stayed close for most of the game. In the end, Auburn was able to pull ahead in the fourth quarter and win the championship 42-34. Aaron Hinton scored 12 and Kamden Coursey scored nine for the Tigers. Logan Gipson and Zack Matthews led the Bears with nine each.
