Robbery at Lewisburg Bank

An armed older man walked into the Lewisburg Banking Company in Lewisburg this morning and robbed the branch. The suspect was later apprehended in Russellville.At approximately 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, the Logan County Sheriff’s Department was notified of an armed robbery of the Lewisburg Bank. According to reports, an older white male entered the bank, approached a teller, brandished a handgun and demanded money.Lawrence R. Freeman, 64, of Dimple Road in Morgantown, received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the bank.Bank employees gave a very good description of Freeman, as well as his vehicle including a partial registration plate number, according to a report from the Logan County Sheriff’s Department.

Kentucky’s unemployment rate stays at 7.4 percent

Schools work to battle the heat
