County declares surplus list, sale scheduled for Oct. 25

A Logan County surplus sale has been scheduled for Oct. 25 at 10 a.m. in the side lot next to the Logan County Detention Center. The sale will consist of vehicles confiscated by the sheriff’s department and various pieces of office equipment.Being offered at the sale includes:2003 Ford 4D blue with 52,164 miles1999 Ford 4D tan with 183,262 miles2000 Ford 4D with 183, 262 miles2003 Ford van blue with 92,220 miles2006 Honda 4-wheeler1993 Chevy with 129,966 milesAlso for sale will be miscellaneous office items such as computers, copy machine, fax machine, laser printer, APC battery backup, sonic wall and a 2002 Crown Victorian car (junked).


Anti-Bullying Task Force to hold first meeting

The Kentucky Youth Bullying Prevention Task Force will hold its first meeting Oct. 22, beginning its work to study bullying in schools and recommend practices and policies to help foster safer, harassment-free school environments.Governor Steve Beshear announced the task force in September. Its first meeting will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, in the Auditorium Room A-3 at the Kentucky State Office Building, 501 High St., in Frankfort.

The Kentucky Department for Public Health (DPH) is coordinating multiple efforts related to Ebola preparedness to increase the level of readiness for hospitals, local health departments, other health providers and partners to deal with any potential cases of Ebola in the state in the unlikely event of such an occurrence. County buys back wrecked ambulance, gives old one to Burden Bearers

Members of the Logan County Fiscal Court voted to buy back an ambulance that was wreaked recently in Springfield, Tenn., for a little less than $5,000.
