County looks into lease with farmer for tower space
Joe Sealy, of Double M Farms, attended the Logan County Fiscal Court last week asking if he could lease the county’s old 100-foot tower on top of Reservoir Hill in Russellville. The county no longer uses the tower, as a new one was constructed to hold the county’s radio equipment. The old tower is in fair condition says sheriff Wallace Whittaker. Road washed away
A portion of the Costellow Road off of Hwy. 79 North, was discovered washed away by Logan County Road crews this week. The large gaping hole where the road used to be is several feet wide and several feet deep. Logan County Judge Executive Logan Chick said two four foot tiles that were underneath the gravel road were washed away during the heavy rains that poured through the once dry bed. Truck fire and gas leak, R’ville Fire Department busy
The Russellville City Fire Department responded to a pick-up truck on fire on Bethel street Sunday. When fire units arrived they found that the engine compartment was on fire with heavy smoke coming from the truck. The fire crew quickly extinguished the truck. Firefighters were on scene for about 20 minutes. During this response, the department also had a fire crew at a serious natural gas leak at 745 Armstrong Street.
