Halloween is quickly approaching and kids will be scouring the streets in attempts to gather as much candy as possible within the allotted time. Each city has it’s own Trick-or-Treat times, so pay close attention to when your little one has to be off the street. There are also several church sponsored events held during this time.
The City of Russellville will be celebrating Halloween on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 4:30-7 p.m. This is the time children can go door to door for treats, but they must be finished by the allotted time.
“I had several calls asking me to change the day because it’s Wednesday night and churches have services. If it had landed on a Sunday I would have, but I think it is fine to have it on Wednesday,” said Russellvile Mayor Mark Stratton, adding, “I’m sure some churches will be having Trunk or Treats that night as well.”
The City of Auburn will celebrate Halloween on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. and the City of Adairville the same as Russellville on Wednesday from 4:30-7 p.m.
The City of Lewisburg, however, will be celebrating on Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 5-8 p.m. City Clerk Angela Sweeney said the date was chosen because of church on Wednesday night and because the city churches get together and have a community festival on Tuesday, Oct. 30 on Second Street.

New Life Baptist Church in Auburn is having a Halloween Outreach in the parking lot across from the Minit Mart in Auburn Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 4-7 p.m. They will be handing out candy and having interactive drama to participate in.
Crossroads Kidz Outreach is sponsoring Fun Fest 2012 on the Square in Russellville Wednesday, Oct. 31. from 5:30-7:30 p.m. There will be inflatables, candy, face painting, hot dogs, prizes, carnival games, cotton candy, and drinks. For more information, please contact Muryd at 270-726-1400.
Southern Heights Baptist Church will be holding a fall festival on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 5:30-7 p.m. There will be hayrides, a 21-foot blowup slide, a 3D bow shoot and a free soup/chili dinner. For more information, call Phillip Alexander at 726-3491.
Post Oak Baptist Church will be holding a fall festival Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. This year’s theme will be “Slime Time.” There will be fun for all ages with games, a photo booth, lots of treats and a live game show with prizes.
New Vision Community Church will be hosting its Fall Festival on Oct. 28th from 4-6 p.m. Wear your favorite costume and come join us for trunks full of candy, lots of games, free food, and tons of fun!
