The Logan County Lady Cougars traveled the Barren County on Tuesday night to face the Barren County Trojanettes. The Lady Cougars finished the game 65-60 to bring home the victory.

The Lady Cougars started the game good, maintaining a short lead over the Trojanettes. The Lady Cougars finished the first quarter with a lead of 18-13. The Lady Cougars were able to maintain that lead throughout the remaining first half, bringing the score to 36-31 heading into the second quarter.

The Trojanettes came back to the court ready to fight, and were able to catch up to the Lady Cougars in the third quarter. The teams were tied 46-46 at the end of the third.

The Lady Cougars were able to pull away quickly from the Trojanettes and keep fighting to take the 65-60 victory over the Trojanettes.

Maegann Hardison led the Lady Cougars with 24 points. Abbey Hinton was close behind with 17 and Megan Lindsey finished with nine points.

“I’m pleased with the win. We executed a better offense tonight. I believe we won the rebounding battle tonight and were where we wanted to be for about three quarters of the game,” said assistant coach Zach Simpson. “We were able to perfect our offense tonight and score. They were moving the ball around and getting better shots. When they take good shots, good things happen.”

The Lady Cougars will travel to Owensboro on Saturday to play the Lady Devils at 7:30.
