Panthers, Cougars end year in playoffs

The 2012 football season has come to an end for the Logan County Cougars and the Russellville Panthers. Both teams fought hard all year and look forward to getting back on the field next season.

RHS ended their season 8-4 scoring a total of 398 points. The Panthers season ended after making it to the second round of the playoffs. The Panthers had a total of 2867 rushing yards. Demarcus Hampton lead with 1042 yards rushing. Hampton was followed by Barrett Croslin with 492 and Zach Hines with 380.

Barrett Croslin ended the season with 838 passing yards. Josh Hampton lead the Panthers in receiving yards with 463 and Zach Hines with 163.

The Panthers lose six seniors after this year including Daniel Duncan (66), Troy Fulcher (59), Josh Hampton (13), Zach Hines (4), A.K. Tisdale (3) and Luke Whittaker (70).

LCHS ended their season 2-9 scoring a total of 179 points. The Cougars beat Metcalfe County earlier in the season and then Barren County to win a spot in the playoffs. The Cougars ended their season at their playoff game against Graves County.

The Cougars had a total of 1003 rushing yards for the season. Gage Hales lead the Cougars with 488 yards rushing and scoring 54 points for the Cougars this season. Brennan Rostampour followed with 219 yards rushing and Justin Rone with 177.

Justin Rone ended the season with 868 passing yards and Ian Woodall with 221. Taylor Blakemore lead the Cougars in receiving yards with 323 followed by Gage Hales with 298 and Michael Sydnor with 205.

The Cougars say bye the nine seniors this seaon, which include Aaron Balkdwin (26), Dylan Givens (70), Gage Hales (22), Jared Hall (55), Jerry Hendrix (20), Chris Neal (6), Nick Offutt (14), Justin Rone (4) and Tyler Wood (72).
