The Logan County Cougar cross country team hosted the Western Kentucky Meet of Champions on Saturday. Eleven teams showed up to compete the last week before regional races next week.

The varsity boys team scored second place behind Daviess County with a score of 52. Sye Head lead the Cougars after winning first place with a time of 16:46. Noah Thomas finished with a time of 17:59, Colton Spencer finished with 18:05, Kaleb O’Dell with a time of 18:10, Levi Crossley with 18:33, Austin Rouse with 18:45, Kelly Eicher with a 19:38, Blake Vanderpool with a 20:03, and Clint Baker with a 20:33.

The varsity girls were short on runners during the race. Jacqueline Belcher lead the Lady Cougars after getting tenth place with a time of 26:59 with Jasmine Martin finishing thirteenth with a time of 28:56. Sarah Richey was the only girls middle school runner for Logan County and finished sixteenth with a time of 15:15 on the 3k course.

The middle school boys team won second behind Marshall County with a score of 39 points. Thomas Lyne would lead the boys team with a second place finish with a time of 10:58 in the 3k race. Deal Heltsley finished with a time of 11:35, Riley Wharton with a 11:55, J.T. Cobb with a 12:18 and Gage Cousineau with a 13:09.

The Logan County varsity runners will compete in the regional race on Saturday on their home course at Logan County High School.
