The Logan County High School boys’ soccer team started their season with a scrimmage against Heritage Christian Academy on Thursday night. Both varsity and junior varsity participated in the game and ended up losing 5-4.

The varsity team played the first half of the game and ended it with a score of 4-o.

The first goal was made early in the first half by senior Diego Garcia and was assisted by senior Korey Jaynes. The second point was scored by Landon Stratton with an assist by sophomore Tanner Chapman. Senior Jacob Smith then scored the third point against Heritage Christian.

At the end of the first half, coach Eric Evans yelled the to the boys that if they wanted to score they better do it in the next minute, and they did.

Junior Landon Stratton came through for the team and made his second goal of the game which was assisted by junior Logan Johnson.

The junior varsity team flooded the field after the second half and played hard but couldn’t defend Heritage Christian against their comeback in the last half.

Heritage Christian came back against the junior varsity team and won 5-4.

“I expected them to score but I didn’t expect them to come back,” said head coach Eric Evans. “But the junior varsity team has to learn.”

LCHS boys soccer will start the regular season on Tuesday August 14 against Hopkins County Central at Logan County High School.
