Thursday night the Logan County Lady Cougar soccer team faced the Lady Spartans from South Warren and ended the night with a 3-0 loss.

As soon as the game started, the Lady Cougars didn’t stop moving along with the Lady Spartans. The Lady Spartans would score their first goal at the 18 minute mark of the first half and their second goal in the last minutes of the game to bring the score to 2-0 in the half.

The Lady Spartans kept good possession of the ball which made the Lady Cougars play strong defense throughout the game. The Lady Cougars had several blocks and good plays but that couldn’t stop the Lady Spartans from scoring one last time in the second half to end the game 3-0.

“Tonight the girls wore themselves out playing defense. They struggled on their defensive mark-ups,” said head coach Daniel McCarley. “We are a very young team and they are more established but the girls played hard and didn’t give up.”

McCarley said the girls are going to prepare for the upcoming regional games by working on possession of the ball and the first touch.

The Lady Cougars (5-3) will face Warren East tonight at Logan County High School at 5:30.
