This year’s Logan Arts and Film Festival (LAFF) is still scheduled for Saturday, April 27, but the venue has changed.

The festival was going to take place this year at the old Logan County courthouse because the next phase of the Russellville Streetscape project was scheduled to begin construction this month around the square.

But that construction will not be starting before April 27 now and the festival will be moving back to the square in the same place it has always been.

Several crafters, artists and bands have already confirmed that they will be in attendance.

The times for the festival have also changed. It will now be from 1-6 p.m. The plan was to start earlier in the day when it was to be at the courthouse.

This year’s film portion of the festival will feature the works of Clyde James Aradon, an independent filmmaker from New Mexico. Several of his films will be shown inside the courthouse - including a couple of zombie films.

“Those are very popular right now,” Silvey said.

The films will be shown in the Logan County Chamber of Commerce meeting room on the square.

“They have been gracious enough to allow us to use their space and we’re thankful for that,” Silvey said.

Logan County Gymnastics will again be putting on a tumbling exhibition.

Several children’s activities – including inflatable bouncers – are also on tap for this year’s festival.

“We’re going to have all the kids’ activities that people are used to,” Silvey said.
