2013 March Fever contest online now

It’s March, and for anyone who’s ever gone mad over the smell of basketball victory, you know what that means.

It’s time for the News-Democrat & Leader’s March Fever 2013 Challenge! Whether you are a die-hard college basketball fan who bleeds your team color and were born with a large foam hand at the end of your arm, or know just enough to understand the difference between a hoop and a ball, you may find this online contest addictive (the cash bonus prizes, including the overall 1 million dollar prize - see official rules - are kind of nice, too, if bragging rights aren’t enough for you).

The contest is sponsored by H&H Sheet Metal, Glistening Auto and the Logan County Farm Bureau and runs through April 8. In that time, 68 teams will be whittled down to the final Number One.

You can make your picks one round at a time. Instead of predicting the entire tournament before it happens, you get to pick the winner of each game as it goes along. You’ll get more points for your correct picks with every round of the contest: Round 1 picks are worth 2 points; Round 2 picks are worth 4 points, etc..

Just go to www.maconcountytimes.com and click on the contest logo to the right. You can also sign up for notifications of wins, and invite other friends to compete with you in the clean, easy-to-use format. If you played last year or participated in one of our other online contests (NASCAR, college football, etc..), you can use the same username and password for the basketball bracket contest.

While you’re there, check out the NASCAR contest next to it, which is also going on now.
