Lady Cougars go 2-0 to play in the FSNB Christmas Classic championship game

The Logan County Lady Cougars have had a very successful time in the First Southern National Bank Christmas Classic basketball tournament. The Lady Cougars went 2-0 to advance to the championship game.

The Lady Cougars won their game against the Iroquois Lady Raiders 70-51 on Thursday and beat the Caverna Lady Colonels 63-47 on Friday.

The Lady Cougars had a big game against the Lady Raiders on Thursday. The Lady Cougars started with a lead of eight points at the end of the first quarter with a score of 20-12. The Lady Cougars were able to lengthen that gap by ten points, ending the first half 38-28.

The Lady Cougars had a strong second half and were able to defeat the Lady Raiders by 19 points, ending the game with a score of 70-51.

Abby Hinton led the Lady Cougars with 14 points. Kapreshia Powell finished the game with 10 points and Maegann Hardison with 9 points.

The Lady Cougars would then move on to play against the Caverna Lady Colonels on Friday night. The Lady Cougars had a strong first half of the game. The first quarter the Lady Cougars led by eight points with a score of 21-13 heading into the second quarter. The Lady Cougars were able to gain a bigger lead of 40-26 going into the second half.

The Lady Cougars were able to maintain their big lead in the third quarter of 51-37. The Lady Cougar defense was able to lengthen the gap and ended the game 63-47.

Megan Lindsey led the Lady Cougars with 16 points. Abby Hinton followed with 15 points and Maegann Hardison with 14 points.
