The Logan County tennis team has two players advancing on to the Kentucky State Tennis Tournament that was held yesterday. Juniors Adam Wilkins and Logan Johnson will advance to the Boys Doubles Tournament.
Wilkins and Johnson played against Donald Chick and Joshua Souane from Oneida Baptist during the first round of the state tournament.
Last week the two competed in the regional tournament. The two defeated Wesley Fisher and Alex Helson from Allen County-Scottsville 7-5 and 6-0 in the first round. In the second round they defeated Russellville’s Will Oakley and Cameron Tisdale 7-5 and 6-4.
In the quarterfinals they defeated Glasgow’s Ashab Ahmed and Cody Jones 6-3 and 6-2. This win sealed their spot in the state tournament. The two advanced to the semifinals of the regional tournament but lost to Noah Flener and Brandon Lee from Bowling Green.
“They have worked extremely hard and we are very proud of their accomplishment,” said coach Dan Duncan.
